Community Health Worker Certification Training

The Columbia Gorge Health Council is excited to be launching our Learning Collaborative with our first Community Health Worker (CHW) Certification Training starting in April 2025.

In partnership with Northeastern Oregon Network (NEON) and Healthy Rural Oregon (HRO), the Columbia Gorge Health Council is now a training HUB for the CHW state certification training. This training course is fully virtual and will be utilizing the Oregon state approved curriculum developed by NEON.

For more information and to apply, visit our training page.

Important to note: Full registration opens the last week of February. Applicants seeking scholarship are encouraged to apply for financial assistance now. BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+ (Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Gender diverse) and people living in very rural/frontier communities encouraged to apply.

Community Health Workers are members of the community they serve. They build trusting relationships with community members, social services agencies and healthcare providers. They use an equitable approach to address barriers to health and wellbeing by modeling, promoting and advocating for clients and the community.

Training starts April 17th and ends August 22nd, 2025
